Park life...

Recently we have started to make the most of our local park and beautiful mere, it's about 4 miles from where we live and we have never really explored this area until this week. It's also something that costs nothing so is great if your trying to save pennies!

We have had two lovely afternoons at the park watching the ducks and enjoying the winter sunshine. Harry absolutely loves being outdoors just like his parents and he also loves animals and wildlife, so everyone is happy spending an afternoon like this. There are so many ducks at our local mere and they are so tame, they come right up to you to see if you have any bread.

This is a picture that my husband took today of Mr and Mrs Duck aka Trevor and Mavis. We actually think that Mr Duck looks like he is smiling.
There are also 5 geese wondering around, I'm quite nervous of them after being bitten on the bottom by a goose when I was just two years old... I still have the scar so I hang well back, although Harry and Matthew get very close to them to take pictures and enjoy how cute and comical they are!

And of course there is a play ground with all manor of things that I'm sure Harry will adore once he is toddling about, but for now he enjoys playing on the swings.

Do you have a nice local park to go to? I'm quite ashamed that I have lived in this area for 13 years and I have only just discovered what a lovely afternoon you can have there. I look forward to more walks and picknicks there over the next few months.

Covehithe... A lovely day out.

Today we decided to take a trip out to the coast, Covehithe is a beautiful and unusual beach in suffolk, the coastline is so eroded that there is a long walk along cliff tops down to the beach.

It was so nice to get wrapped up warm and cosy and have a long walk in the beautiful afternoon sunshine. Harry really enjoys being outside just like his parents and despite getting very cold we all had lots of fun!

On one side of the beach there is the sea and on the other there is a beautiful fishing lake (pictured above) the contrast in the choppy waves vs the millpond flat lake is beautiful. Peace and quiet the one side and the sound of crashing waves on the other.

So many of the trees have either died and fallen off the cliffs or are just left on the beach below. And although the trees are dead they still have such a beauty about them.

I hope that you have all had a wonderful New Year's Eve and a fabulous new year. Our start to the new year is wonderful.

I wish you all a happy healthy 2015 and I'll see you next year!

If you go down to the woods today....

Today we have had the first "normal" day after the Christmas period (sad face that Christmas is over)
We spent the morning at home as we hadn't had a calm morning at home for nearly a week! Harry has been napping our bed over the Christmas period as its a treat so he needed to get back into sleeping in his cot in his own room before we do the big change to him sleeping in his own room at night next week! (This is so bittersweet)

After our nice calm morning of taking naps, doing some jobs, drinking coffee and generally relaxing we headed off to our local forest for a long walk with our three dogs. It's been a gorgeous day here in norfolk, cold and bright. We put Harry in his baby carrier (that kills my shoulders) he absolutely loves the outdoors just like his mummy and daddy.

I absolutely love days like these, the no makeup, no fuss just family days. These days are the ones I cherish most, the ones I will look back on and smile when I'm an old lady.

The dogs had a great time, going to the Forrest is just an excuse for the dogs to be naughty somewhere else!

The husband took his camera (all pictures on my blog are taken by him) and took this very serious yet handsome selfie.

I hope that for those of you who are back to work that your work days aren't too bad, and for those who are still off work or stay at home parents like me I hope that you are still enjoying some of the Christmas feeling, I know I certainly am!

As always I hope that you have enjoyed this blog post, please feel free to comment, I'd love to know what you lovelies have been up to.
